Sales Engineer – APAC – Singapore or Hong Kong

The Sales Engineer role will require working closely with the sales team to qualify sales opportunities, and then collect and analyze customer requirements to create a viable technical solution. The value of the solution must be clearly communicated to both the sales team and the customer.

The Sales Engineer will be responsible for creating and presenting the client with a complex technical solution to a potentially non-technical audience while also articulating the business value of the solution. A Sales Engineer must be capable of effectively communicating with product management, development, delivery and support to ensure the overall success of the customer.

PRIMARY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage the technical aspects of customer interactions and acquisition.
  • Delve deep into carrier accounts to understand their network needs and projections.
  • Develop business by seeking out new opportunities in carrier networks in existing clients as well as through cultivating new clients.
  • Focus on the short term and the long term value proposition of 724 Solutions’ products and their application to current and future carrier networks.
  • Partner with carrier accounts, and provide a front end technical interface to the operations, engineering and research and development departments within the carrier.
  • Use technical skills to demonstrate to customers how and why the 724 Solutions’ products would suit the customer vs. direct and indirect competition.
  • Serve as a technical liaison between carrier customer and 724 Solutions.
  • Provide input based on direct customer interaction for market research into respective accounts and/or market segment/region.
  • Direct involvement in RFx processes for carrier accounts.
  • Work closely with sales account management team on targeted accounts.

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Candidates need at least 5 years of relevant work experience in telecommunications (preferably wireless telecommunications) or data communications fields, preferably including Mobile Internet, and other wireless data services. Ideal candidates will have in-depth knowledge of SMS, MMS and WAP.
  • Candidates need at least 3 years of experience in the role of sales engineer or sales technical consultant.
  • Candidates will need a very strong technical track record in a Unix/Linux environment and will need to demonstrate capabilities to conduct product trials/evaluations independently.
  • Candidates should have familiarity with the operation of a large carrier through direct involvement as an employee of the carrier or through the role of a direct infrastructure vendor to the carrier.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills are essential. Candidates will be expected to be able to conduct product briefings using both a “whiteboard” and PowerPoint presentations.

POSITION LOCATION/TRAVEL:

The Sales Engineer will be located near targeted accounts’ major locations, ideally Singapore or Hong Kong, however, travel is required and expected to make up at least 50% of the job.
